More Rain for Monday
July 5th, 2009 by Jason Laney under Weather OutlookThe daily dose of showers and storms is apparently not just limited to long holiday weekends. Another round of afternoon thunderstorms will likely erupt Monday. However, the storms will favor the eastern half of New Mexico as opposed to western sections.
There should be plenty of available moisture left over the fuel the storms across the eastern two thirds of the Land of Enchantment. Meanwhile, high pressure aloft will help to push drier air into the western sections of the state to kick off the work week.
This area of high pressure will eventually set up residence over New Mexico as the week continues, bringing an end to the daily dose of storms. When this happens, expect to see temperatures warm to above normal levels across most parts of state.
