Tone and tone-deaf

Forget substance, issues and all that important stuff about the future of the country; everything is about tone as the presidential candidates sprint from Labor Day to Election Day. Start with the tones accompanying the vice-presidential picks of Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain.  Obama, the agent of radical change, makes a safe-traditional pick in Delaware Sen. Joe Biden while McCain, the old-line conservative, makes the radical-feminist choice in Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
