Get Ready To Roll!

The transition has begun. Moisture is working its way up from the south as we speak. The heat of the day Thursday will produce scattered thunderstorms.  Through the night tomorrow night more widespread storms will set in and this is just the beginning. The next few days a cold front will work its way through eastern New Mexico that will help to intensify more storms especially across the east.  That combined with the remnants of Norbert will mean widespread rain chances.

By the weekend and into the beginning of next week plenty of moisture working its way up from the south (Norbert) will continue to fuel widespread storms. It’s looking more and more like we could be in line for impressive rainfall amounts.

Check out the rainfall projections below. Areas of southwestern and eastern New Mexico could top 4 inches of rain. Here in the Albuquerque metro area we could grab well over an inch. All of this is of course subject to change so stay tuned but it does look good.
