Santa Fe residents will soon see an even higher level of safety at Rail Runner crossings in their area – this move following a collaborative review of those crossings by Rio Metro Regional Transit District, the Federal Railroad Administration, the NM Department of Transportation, the NM Public Regulation Commission, and the City of Santa Fe.

The movement is a response to the increased amounts of pedestrian and bicycle activity in recent years. Over the next 2-3 months, all agencies involved will conduct a review of the crossings with safety experts to ensure maximum safety.

Improvements will be implemented as necessary. While the input is being gathered, trains will operate at slower speeds through these crossings.
