More Storms On The Way….August 6th, 2014 at 8:44 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
The grip high-pressure has had on our weather will start to relent over the next few days. The high will shift to the east as we work toward Friday. This will allow more moisture to crawl out from the south and fuel afternoon thunderstorms. The first area to get it will be Southwestern NM on Thursday.
Moisture will then spread into central and eastern sections through the weekend. The overall coverage of storms and intensity of those storms will not be like what we saw last week. But scattered pockets of heavy rain will be possible.
Rain amounts for the next five days don’t look overly impressive. Favored areas will be the Gila and northern mountains. As you can tell from the image below up to three quarters of an inch of rain will be possible.
