Quiet Weather For Now…

Right on cue storms backed off today across most of the state. The only areas that picked up widespread thunderstorms were Union, Colfax and Taos Counties. The chance for showers will be even leaner on Wednesday with just mountain sections seeing the slight chance at grabbing a passing storm. By Thursday things start to change. High-pressure will slide to the east allowing moisture to slide up from the south.

Western areas of the state will be the first ones to see an increase in thunderstorm activity Thursday afternoon. Then statewide we will start to pick up a chance of showers into the weekend. Below is a look at the 7 to 14 day outlook for thunderstorms. As you can tell it looks pretty good once again for average or maybe slightly above average rain for the state.
