Wet monsoon Season Continues…July 29th, 2014 at 9:13 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
Another day another good round of storms across New Mexico. Some of the strongest Storms hit the Albuquerque metro area this afternoon. In fact, the Sunport which usually misses out on the biggest rainfall totals did very well with more than .75 inches. For the month so far we’ve had over 3 inches of rain. This is the biggest one month total for rain since last September. If we can pick up another inch of rain this could be the first time we had 4 inches of rain in one month. Since 1930!
With two days left in the month there still a good chance to pick up additional rainfall. Another cold front will blast into the state on Wednesday. This front will introduce more moisture that will eventually turn into thunderstorms Wednesday evening and Thursday. Beyond that were looking at more storms continuing into the weekend thanks to southerly moisture creeping into the state. Here’s a look at the expected rainfall totals through the weekend. So far so good this season it’s been a wet one.
