Storms Keep Rolling In….

After a wet start to the week on Sunday with a big crop of storms over Central New Mexico we are keeping the party going Monday. Widespread storms will continue overnight tonight and into Tuesday as a weather disturbance combines with deep moisture over the state. The areas that should see the heaviest rain will be across the West in the northern mountains.

By Tuesday afternoon the storm crop will thin out a bit but we should still see pretty good storms over the northern portion of the state. Then late Wednesday another backdoor cold front pushes its way into the Northeast and brings in more showers across the area for late Wednesday and Thursday.

Looking out through the weekend our moisture plume should remain pretty deep across the area. So look for more scattered to numerous storms. But as is customary for the monsoon season not everybody will get wet every day. Albuquerque is a good example of this.  Some areas like Knob Hill picked up heavy rain on Sunday while others like the Sunport got nothing. Such is life in New Mexico during the monsoon flow.

Below is the seven-day outlook for precipitation. Looks good!
