Get rid of unwanted paint and chemicals Saturday

The City of Albuquerque’s Department of Municipal Development, its Solid Waste Management Department and Advanced Chemical Transport (ACT) will be holding a free Household Hazardous Waste Collection.

The collection will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm at the National Guard Armory located at 400 Wyoming NE. Citizens are encouraged to bring their household hazardous waste to this free event.

Accepted Items:

Paint

Automotive Oil

Antifreeze

Gasoline

Cleaning Supplies

Finishes & Stains

Aerosols

Pesticides/Herbicides

Poisons

Corrosives/Photo graphics

Batteries of all types

Fertilizers

Pool Chemicals

Fluorescent Light Bulbs

Mercury

Items Not Accepted:

Cylinders

Fire Extinguishers

Appliances (Stoves, Refrigerators, etc.)

Metals

Paper

Needles/Medical Waste

Medications

Computers

Televisions/Stereos/Electronics

Asbestos

Ammunition/Gunpowder/Explosives

Radioactive Materials (including smoke detectors)
