Stormy Nights!

Arguably our best storm crop of the summer so far is exploding over Northern and Central New Mexico. Widespread thunderstorms will remain a factor throughout the night tonight and into early Friday morning. Widespread thunderstorms with heavy rain and small hail are the main thread.

Storms will die down during the early morning hours on Friday. The crop of storms for the Fourth of July won’t be quite as widespread as they are today. But we will still see scattered storms forming over the mountains and rolling into the valleys. Saturday and Sunday both look like decent storm days but not as robust as today.

Next week the monsoon flow pattern sets back up again favoring western and central New Mexico. Here’s a look at the seven-day precip total we expect to see over the next week. As you can tell it looks like the monsoon flow is getting off to a pretty good start.
