New program to teach NMSU students about NM heritage

New Mexico State University Carlsbad wants students to learn the culture and heritage of the southwest through a new certificate program.

The program is designed to prepare students for careers as interpreters, tour guides, technicians and docents.

School officials said students will be able to practice what they learn in internships at state and national parks in the area.
