More Heat & Storm Chances Ahead…June 21st, 2014 at 9:45 pm by chrisgilson under Weather
Summer began at 451 am and boy did it ever feel like summer by Saturday afternoon. The Albuquerque Sunport made it to a high temperature of 95° while many locations in the southwest topped out in the upper 90s! Places like Socorro, T or C, Alamogordo and Las Cruces will reach the century mark on Sunday.
But, while most of us dealt with the heat, some areas in Eastern New Mexico did pick up some beneficial rain. Santa Rosa was one of those areas that got slammed by a severe thunderstorm. More storms could fire once again along the central mountain chain and into the eastern plains on Sunday. That chance for scattered storms will continue into Monday for Eastern New Mexico.
