Drier and Hotter This WeekJune 9th, 2014 at 12:46 pm by John Smith under Weather
After a very active weekend, expect fewer storms to start the workweek. Most of the moisture will work out of the east today, leading to only isolated storms. No severe weather is expected this afternoon. It will be breezy to occasionally windy across the east as drier air works in.
Over the next couple of days a weak ridge of high pressure will build in. This will keep us dry, but also warm us up. Albuquerque will return to the low 90s by Wednesday, while the southeast will return to triple digit heat. The heat will not last quite as long as last week, as a cold front moves in late Thursday. That will bring temperatures back down leading into the weekend.
As that cold front moves in, storm chances will increase for eastern New Mexico once again Thursday and Friday. Things dry back out for the weekend as temperatures bounce back from the brief cool down.
