Severe Thunderstorm Watch for parts of NM…May 25th, 2014 at 2:52 pm by chrisgilson under Weather
The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for parts of east central and southeast New Mexico until 10 pm. A watch means conditions are favorable for severe storms to develop later this afternoon into the evening. If storms become severe they could produce winds of 58 mph or more and hail the size of quarters (1″ in diameter) or larger.
Flash Flood Watches also continue for Eddy and Lea County until Monday morning at 6 am. These areas have had several rounds of heavy rain so it won’t take much more rain to cause flooding. So if you come across a flooded road way remember turn around, don’t drown.
