Moisture Starts to Move In Today

Today we begin the transition to wetter weather pattern. Moisture will start to get drawn into the far eastern part of the state today. Areas east of the central mountain chain will have the best shot at seeing showers and storms. Meanwhile, central and western areas will continue to see mainly warm, breezy, and dry conditions leading to fire danger.

As a storm continues to sit to our west in southern California, more and more moisture will get drawn in from the east. Storm coverage will expand across more of the east Thursday. Moisture will spill into central sections Friday, expanding showers and storms to the eastern two thirds of the state.

The storm sitting to the west will finally cross the state Saturday into early Sunday. Shower coverage will be statewide as this happens. A modest crop of storms will still be possible Sunday and Monday afternoon especially over the higher terrain with leftover moisture.
