New Mexico Philharmonic to perform patriotic concert

The New Mexico Philharmonic will perform one last time this month in a concert featuring patriotic music for Memorial Day weekend.

The concert will take place Saturday, May 24, at 8 p.m. Tickets for lawn seating are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the performance. Guests are welcome to bring picnics, blankets and folding chairs.

Chair seating tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door.

VIP table seating, which includes a picnic basket with wine, is $125 per person. Advance reservations are required.

The program will procede as follows:

  • Stanislaw Skrowaczewski: “The Star Spangled Banner”
  • Morton Gould: American Salute
  • Aaron Copland: “Variations on a Shaker Hymn”
  • Jackie McGehee Young Artists’ Concerto Competition Winners
  • Richard Rodgers/Robert Russell Bennett: Victory at Sea

INTERMISSION

  •  John Philip Sousa:
  • “The Liberty Bell”
  • “The U.S. Field Artillery March”
  • “The Stars and Stripes Forever”
