Fire Danger and Wind Returning…May 17th, 2014 at 9:32 pm by chrisgilson under Weather
Temperatures felt like early summer in New Mexico with highs breaking into the 80s and low 90s for much of central and southern New Mexico. Temperatures are going to get even hotter for your Sunday, but the winds are going to start picking up as well.
They aren’t going to be out of control, however, they’ll be strong enough to elevate the fire danger for much of eastern New Mexico where winds could be gusting from 40-45 mph. So you do not want to do any burning outdoors with the very hot temps, dry conditions, and windy weather.
