Wind Advisory (Yellow) High Wind Warning (Orange) for Sunday afternoon

The storm system is going to start moving in overnight and ahead of it clouds will be on the increase to the north and west.   When you head out the door first thing on your Sunday, the winds won’t be too much of an issue and we’ll have a mix of sun & clouds.   It is around lunch time the winds start to crank up and the dust starts blowing around.

Fortunately, this system is going to move just far enough south to trigger some scattered showers in Northern New Mexico.   There is a chance for a spot shower in Albuquerque, but most of the action should be in Southern Colorado, the Four Corners, and Northern Mountains.

Behind this system temperatures are going to tumble.   They’re going to be so cold we are going to have the chance for snow in the higher elevations of the Northern Mountains Sunday and Monday night.   It looks like 2-6″ could fall in the mountains when all is said by Wednesday morning.   Stay with KRQE News 13 for more weather updates.

Snow in the San Juans of Colorado about 4-8″ possible
