Cool Northwest Flow PersistsApril 29th, 2014 at 12:37 pm by John Smith under Weather
The winds will come down some today, but will stay at least breezy this afternoon. The winds will continue to decrease as the storm slowly pulls away. However, the northwest flow across the state will hold keeping temperatures 10° – 15° below average. Albuquerque will be stuck in the low 60s through Thursday.
A final piece of energy will ride along the back side of this storm Thursday and clip the northeastern part of the state. Some light snow will be possible over the Northern Mountains with a few showers over the northeast. The strong winds will also return for the day Thursday as this works through.
Conditions dramatically improve Friday into the weekend. Temperatures warm to near normal on Friday, with the metro in the mid 70s. Then highs warm to well above average for the weekend, with Albuquerque highs in the low 80s. Parts of the southeast will reach the low 90s this weekend. Also expect plenty of sunshine and less wind.
