Snow and Rain on the Way…

Our second storm system for this weekend is going to pack more of a punch compared to the first one that rolled through on Saturday.  This system has more energy and moisture to work with that we will see a better shot for mountain snow and valley thunderstorms by Sunday afternoon into Monday morning.

Heavier snow will be confined to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains above 9500 ft that is where some areas could pick up 6-8″ of snow with some isolated higher totals.   Raton and Clayton could also see several inches of snow Sunday night into Monday.  So travel may be a tough go along the Raton Pass early Monday morning.   Rain and T-storms will be most likely along I-40 and to the north tomorrow afternoon.   Overnight some areas in eastern New Mexico could pick up a light accumulation of snow.   We’ll keep you posted.
