Time for the five things you need to know before you go this morning.

5. Before you get the bacon frying this morning, here’s some food for thought. A virus is making millions of pigs get sick and die. It won’t make humans sick though.  Pork prices are up at least 10 percent as a result of the virus.

4. If you’re looking for work there’s a job fair being held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.today at the New Mexico Workforce Connections at 501 Mountain Road. Hundreds of employers will be looking to fill many positions. Tweak your resume, dress for success and show up good luck.

3. Detectives in Roswell are investigating a death on campus at the EasternNew MexicoUniversity. No one is talking about whether the victim is a student. There’s no word so far this morning about any suspects. We’ll keep you posted.

2. It’s going to be an anxious day in Albuquerque.  We’ll get what many think will be a scathing report from the Department of Justice on APD tomorrow. On the heels of that APD has named a new deputy chief to help with the DOJ recommendations similar investigations in other cities have ended up costing as $55 million to make changes. We’re following this story on air and online and will live streaming tomorrow morning’s news conference at 10 a.m. on KRQE.com.

1. Today you can expect a high near 80. There will be southwestern winds coming at 10 to 15 mph this morning. Tonight it will be partly cloudy with a low around 48 and from 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight.
