  • Video showing Redwine shooting itself not released. Lapel video released only showed another officer’s back.
  • Chief Eden: 4 officers on leave in relation to shooting, although only one actually fired at Redwine.
  • When asked if shooting was justified, Eden says “not going to answer that question.” 4 officers on leave per SOP. #APD
  • Eden asked what he thought of the protest and timing with next OIS: “we had no way to handle the timing of this…” #APD
  • Eden response to protest: “I am grateful we live in a nation where we can exercise free speech”
  • Eden says he hasn’t heard directly from officers. When asked about how many bullets hit suspect: “we have no information from OMI”
  • Eden comments on neighbor video: “we cannot draw any conclusions from the video we’ve seen.” Says standoff was about 40 minutes.
  • Eden asked if there’s vid showing suspect and what he did. Eden says it hasn’t been processed yet.

  • APD identifies man shot and killed as Alfred Redwine. Chief Eden not releasing officer’s name at this time.
  • Video cuts out as soon as shots are fired. It’s unclear who fired the shots. Eden says “at least one officer fired his rifle”
  • Lapel video shows officers repeatedly asking man to put the gun down. Man heard yelling that they took his son.
  • Eden says officers commanded suspect to leave apartment. Video shows officers aiming guns and repeatedly yelling “put the gun down Alfred”
  • Chief Eden: Officers were unable to contact man inside via phone, used PA to demand he leave his home.
  • #APD blurred the faces of the adults and muted when they asked for names and birthdates. Woman is telling officers about man with gun.
  • On lapel cam video, witnesses tell officers man is inside a home. They say two girls were confronted by man who pulled a gun on them.
  • #APD‘s Eden says 2 adults met officers at scene and told them they were threatened by suspect. (Playing video now.)
