5. Good news about Rico. He’s the APD dog that was shot in the line of duty last week. Rico should be able to run and jump again in the next month. His handler, Officer Ken Ronzone says, if it wasn’t for Rico, he thinks the suspect would’ve probably shot at officers.

4. Walmart is recalling a popular doll because it can burn children. The “My Sweet Love/My Sweet Baby Cuddle Care Baby Dolls” have a circuit board in the chest that could catch fire.
So far the dolls have burned at least two people.

3. Windy is the weather word of the day. Scattered showers before 7 am, then it’ll be mostly cloudy gradually becoming sunny with a high near 69. The southwest wind 5 to 10 mph increases to 15 to 20 in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Tonight isolated showers after 7 pm, mostly cloudy with a low around 38. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 25 mph with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation tonight is 10%

2. After the helmet-cam of APD fatal shooting of a homeless man camping illegally in Albuquerque’s foothills went viral, generating a lot of negative comments, and the estimated 1000 person march to APD headquarters last night protesting the shooting, this afternoon at 2:00, the families of people shot by Albuquerque Police and community activists will be briefed about the ongoing investigation into APD by the Department of Justice. The meeting is closed to the public.

1. There was another officer-involved shooting by Albuquerque Police. This one happened just after nine last night off of Central Avenue and 60th Street. Chief Gorden Eden says a man came out of an apartment and started shooting at officers who fired back. The man was hit, and transported to UNM Hospital, his condition is unknown. The officers were not hurt. The investigation is in its preliminary stages. We expect to have more information today on KRQE News 13.
