Two Storms for the Price of One!

Showers will develop this afternoon across west central and southwestern New Mexico. As a storm system moves through southern New Mexico late today through early Wednesday, moisture is going to get drawn in. A concern for many of the storms will be dry lightning and gusty winds. Eventually enough moisture will work in for some beneficial rainfall. The Sacramento Mountains and southeast will be favored for the most rainfall tonight into early tomorrow.

The storm exits Wednesday morning, but another storm moves into southern Colorado Wednesday afternoon. With the state sandwiched between a departing storm to the south and an approaching storm to the north, winds will be cranking up, especially Wednesday afternoon. The storm to the north will deliver some shower activity over the Northern Mountains and near the state line, but most of New Mexico stays dry.

The storm scraping the north exits Thursday, leaving a quieter and warmer pattern in place for Friday and the weekend. Another wind event looks likely for the start of next week.
