The high winds overnight and this morning will be a thing of the past for the afternoon. A storm pushing through Colorado delivered winds gusting as high as 65 mph to the state through last night and this morning. That storm exits this afternoon, allowing the winds to come down.
On the back side of the storm system, we go into a cooler, northwesterly flow. Highs across the north will run about 20° – 25° cooler today than yesterday. However, the cool down will be short lived. After warming a few degrees Wednesday, temperatures really recover Thursday and Friday.
A back door cold front will enter the northeast late this week. That will allow temperatures to pull back a bit over the weekend. After seeing highs well above average Thursday and Friday, we’ll see near normal temps for the weekend.
