Windy Start to the WeekMarch 17th, 2014 at 3:39 am by John Smith under Weather
Monday may start quiet, but a storm passing to the north will quickly change that. Winds will ramp up during the late morning and into the afternoon as most of the shower active with this storm moves well to our north through central and northern Colorado. With the wind, warm temperatures, and dry conditions in place, Red Flag Warnings and Fire Weather Watches have been posted for much of the state.
The storm quickly moves out late Tuesday morning. After a windy start to the day, expect less wind for Tuesday afternoon. Despite the decreasing wind, cooler air will be pouring in on the back side of the departing storm system. This cool northwest flow will cool temperatures across the state by 10° – 20°, with the biggest cool down in the west.
Temperatures struggle to warm up on Wednesday. A warmer westerly flow will help boost temperatures more Thursday and Friday. The weather looks to stay quiet through late week and the weekend with plenty of sunshine, mild temperatures, and few wind concerns.
