Our storm will work through the state today, delivering some additional light rain and snow to the state. The higher terrain of New Mexico will pick up a few more inches of snowfall. Passing light rain showers will continue in lower elevations, including the metro, through the morning hours.

By the afternoon, the showers will start to taper off from west to east. Eastern New Mexico will continue with scattered showers through at least the late afternoon. East central sections will be one of the more troubling travel spots. A cold front pushed through overnight allowing for mixed precip to develop there. I-40 in Tucumcari is a good example of some of the icy conditions.

The storm lifts out this evening, making way for a very nice workweek. Temperatures will slowly rebound, returning to springlike weather by the end of the week. Another storm will clip the state Thursday and Friday. While the Northern Mountains could pick up a few inches of snow, most of the state will get another round of wind.
