Here Comes The Storm Parade…February 26th, 2014 at 9:04 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
A storm system will pass just north of the state on Thursday. This storm will target NW New Mexico, SW Colorado and our northern mountains. Snow levels will be quite high around 9,000′. Look for the heaviest snow accumulations over the San Juans where 4″8″ will be possible. Over the Sangre de Cristo’s 1-4″ will be likely. here in the metro area we will get gusty winds and a chance for a spot shower.
We will be between storms on Friday then early Saturday a more potent storm will drop farther south into the state. This storm too will be quite warm but more widespread rain should benefit the valley sections which the mountains will get a good dose of snow. Take a look at model projects for liquid precip. Looks very good.
