A Little Ice Tonight?

A cold front plowing through eastern NM will make for an interesting evening east of our central mountains.  Temps are already sharply colder in places like Tucumcari and Clovis.  Throughout the night a little moisture behind the front will lead to a spot snow shower along the eastern slopes of the northern and eat mtns.  However, the better chance for measurable precip will be over east central and se NM.  Whatever falls will melt quickly on Wednesday.

Our next system will pass north on Thursday.  This storm will deliver some light to moderate snow over the northern high terrain.  The rest of us will get a big fat dose of wind.  Friday will serve as a in between storms type of day.  Then Saturday and Sunday a stronger storm rolls in.  This system looks like a good valley rain maker and a good mountain snow maker.  Check out the European model snow estimate.  Could be a foot plus over northern areas by Monday.
