A Storm In Our Future?February 24th, 2014 at 10:08 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
Yes it’s true we could actually get a significant winter storm by this weekend. Until we get there though it will be a bit of a temperature roller coaster. A cold front will nudge into NE New Mexico on Tuesday. This will dip temps around 20° or so. By Wednesday the whole east side of the state will cool. Meanwhile here in the metro we will drop 5° or so on Wednesday.
A storm system will pass to our north on Thursday. This will crank up the winds and deliver some high elevation snow to the northern mountains. But the big story will roll in over the weekend. A bigger system will pass through the state Saturday and Sunday. This storm has a chance to bring significant mountain snow. Here is a look at model projections on how much snow will fall. Parts of the north could pick up over a foot! Stay tuned.
