Sunshine and Mild Temps Continue…February 21st, 2014 at 9:56 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
The dry westerly flow will continue across New Mexico over the next several days. This will lead to moderating temps and very high fire danger. Highs Saturday will top out in the low 60′s with gusty winds over eastern NM. Sunday will be a couple degrees warmer with a few more clouds.
Into next week the big story will be two fold. A cold front will sweep across the state on Wednesday knocking temps down 20°+. Then a series of storms will take aim on the SW. Now, this sounds good but there is a real possibility that these systems will be quite weak. If they are they will likely boost winds more than deliver precipitation. However long term forecasts are beginning to show more promising trends. Check out the 8-14 day outlook. The west could start to turn things around.
