Here are the 5 things you need to know before you go.

5.  It appears the move to legalize marijuana for recreational use in New Mexico died in committee at the legislative session yesterday. The bill’s sponsor, Jerry Ortiz y Pino calls legalization “inevitable” and vows to reintroduce the legislation again next year.

4.  A major recall of child car seats from Graco. The recall covers 11 models sold from 2009 through 2013 because their buckles may not unlatch which can trap children. There’s information on KRQE.com on how to get a free buckle replacement.

3. New Mexico’s family-owned Bueno Foods is recalling its frozen green chile because it may be contaminated with Listeria.  The company says you don’t have to throw it away, must make sure you cook it thoroughly before eating it.

2.  A winter storm forecasters are calling “potentially catastrophic” is hitting the southeast part of the United States today.  As many as 2500 flights have already been canceled including ones from Albuquerque to Atlanta, check with your airline before heading out.

1.  It’s a completely different story in New Mexico. Today it’ll be sunny with a high near 61, and a north wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the morning.  Tonight expect partly cloudy skies with a low around 32, and a northwest wind around 5 mph.
