5.It appears New Mexico lawmakers are closing in on a state budget for the year. The State House is supposed to vote today on the $6.2 Billion spending plan, which is five percent more than last year.
4. Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry is creating a task force to find out what went wrong in the Omaree Varela case. Police and state agencies are being accused of dropping the ball in preventing the child from being kicked to death, allegedly by his mother, last year.
3. Get ready for some pain at the gas pump. Some refineries are getting ready to shut down for winter maintenance and will start switching to a “summer blend” soon, which could boost gas prices to about $3.55 for a gallon of regular unleaded, according to AAA.
2. West Side commuters in the Metro area, southbound Coors Boulevard closes this morning at 9 a.m. from the Coors Bypass to Irving. The area will be shut down to traffic until tomorrow night so city crews could repair a water main break.
1. There’s a 10 percent chance of snow before 11a.m. It’ll be mostly cloudy with a high near 45, and a southwest wind of five to 10 mph. Tonight, expect mostly cloudy skies with a low around 25 and a west wind five to 10 mph. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high near 54.
