The Return of Winter…for a Day!

January 22nd, 2014 at 5:23 pm by under Weather

We finally had a cloudy day at least in Central and Northern New Mexico on Wednesday!   These clouds are ahead of a cold front that will bring a return of winter for a day.

Ahead of the front, winds will be cranking up in Northeastern and Central New Mexico early Thursday morning into the afternoon .   In Albuquerque and Santa Fe winds will gust up to 50 mph at times.   Unfortunately, these strong canyon winds will limit our chance for snow here in the metro.

Most of the snow will be limited to the mountains.    The Northern Mountains could pick up 1-4″, East Mountains dusting to an inch, and in the Northeast 1-3″.   Temperatures will climb above average by the weekend!
