Finally A Storm…Sort OfJanuary 21st, 2014 at 10:03 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
One more quiet weather day on Wednesday with partly sunny skies and mild temps. Then A storm system dropping out of the pacific NW will increase winds and drive a strong cold front into the area on Thursday. Winds will gust as high as 45 mph here in the ABQ metro area with highs in the 30′s. So it will definitely feel like winter.
As far as snow goes, accumulation will be limited to areas east of the central mountain chain. The favored areas for most of the snow will be the east slopes of the northern mountains and NE. But even in these areas we are looking at snow amounts below 2″ in most non mountain areas. The storm will clear the state Friday and temps will rebound over the weekend under sunny skies.
