The Wind Returns Sunday for parts of New Mexico…

It was a great day for anything outdoors on Saturday!  Light wind and high temperatures were 5-15° above average.

After a mild afternoon, temps will be on the chilly side once again to start your Sunday.  The clear skies and dry conditions will allow temperatures to fall back into the 20s, 10s, and even single digits again.

Although the recent weather has been nice, we desperately need some precipitation.  A very weak disturbance passes to our north on Sunday.   It’ll bring some changes for the second half of the weekend, but not the changes we need!  The system has absolutely no moisture to  work with, so we are going to be dry yet again for Sunday.   However, the winds will be picking up in Eastern New Mexico.   This will create a high fire danger for that portion of the state.   So a Red Flag Warning runs from noon until Sunday evening for parts of the Eastern Plains.
