The Streak Continues…January 15th, 2014 at 8:00 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
Our streak of dry weather has now reached 25 days in a row and it will easily top 30 and possible far beyond 30. A strong ridge of high pressure continues to deflect any storm chance well north and east of NM. This persistent ridge has not only hurt NM but its killing California. Snotel sites in the Sierra Nevada Mtns are showing snow pack numbers down 60% from last year.
Mostly sunny skies will be the rule through the rest of the work week with highs in the mid 50′s. If you are waiting for some semblance of a storm you will likely be waiting until the end of the month at the earliest. The Climate Prediction Centers 30 day outlook is right on so far.
