Strong Winds Ending…January 12th, 2014 at 6:39 pm by chrisgilson under Latest Posts, Weather
A storm system grazed New Mexico on Sunday and like the disturbance that moved through Friday, all we managed to get were strong, gusty winds instead of beneficial rain/snow. The winds will be breezy for the remainder of Sunday night and also in Eastern New Mexico on Monday.
Despite the high winds, temperatures did climb well above average in the central and southern portion of the state. That’s where temperatures were in the 50s to even the 70s in places like Roswell and Carlsbad.
After Sunday, the weather pattern isn’t looking promising for snow/rain. A ridge of high pressure will be building over the west coast leaving us warm and dry all the way through the end of the week.
