Quiet For a Few More Days…

An area of high pressure is dominating our weather.   This high is giving us very cold nights, but mild afternoons.  This will be the trend until Saturday night.  That is when a weak disturbance passes to our north.   This system will kick up the winds and on the backside of it, a cold front will roll through the state.

The front could trigger some light snow over the mountains, but the bigger impact will be the drop in temperatures especially in Eastern New Mexico.  That’s where temps will be 10-20°  cooler on Sunday.   But, after the brief cool down temps begin to climb into New Years.
