Santa Fe police shopped until they dropped Friday spreading a little holiday cheer along the way

Officers assisted almost 70 children in picking out their holiday presents. Each child was given $75 to spend at Walmart. Guided by an officer, the children purchased clothing, toiletries, food and holiday presents. Some kids even chose to buy presents for their family members instead of themselves.

The children were selected by an outside agency or by officers they are familiar with.

Shop with a Cop is an annual Santa Fe Police Department tradition was started about eight years ago and something the department looks forward to each year

SFPD received donations from multiple community and business members including Walmart, Target, Squeaky Clean Car Wash, State Employees Credit Union, Santa Fe Motor Sports, Santa Fe Elks Lodge and the Santa Fe Police Officers Association.
