5. It’s definitely a talker, APD has blocked a vocal critic of the department from receiving updates on APD’s twitter account. Steven Way posts critical comments about the department. APD says citizens have other forums to post critical comments. This is a little strange though, because Way’s comments don’t appear on APD’s tweets.

4.It’ll be an emotional goodbye to a Sandoval County sheriff’s deputy this morning. He was killed in the line of duty last week. Sandoval County Sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Baron’s memorial is at 10 a.m. this morning at the Santa Ana Star Center. He died after a car skidded on I-25 and hit him while he was working another crash watch for traffic in the area.

3. College students keep an eye on your stuff and lock it up because Winter Break is starting soon. UNM police say they saw a spike in thefts during Thanksgiving Break and they don’t want it to happen again. Take your laptops and iPads home and if you can’t take your bike, lock it up. UNM police say these are the items that get ripped off the most.

2.Governor Susana Martinez wants to recruit teachers to beef up the state’s education and she intends to do it the good old fashion way, with money. Of course, the idea is part of the governor’s budget plan, which will be taken up by New Mexico legislators when they convene in Santa Fe next month.

1. You can expect isolated showers after noon today. It’ll be mostly sunny with a high near 44, clam winds and a 10 percent chance of rain. Tonight there will be a slight chance of rain showers before midnight, then a slight chance of snow showers. There will be cloudy skies with a low around 29 and a chance of precipitation.
