KRQE to host Toys for Toys phone bank TuesdayDecember 9th, 2013 at 8:56 pm by manettenewbold under News
There was a last-minute push to help the Toys for Tots program Monday.
The marines, APD, AFD and deputies were out at American Home Furniture to collect toy and monetary donations from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Officials say Toys for Tots needs to help 6,000 children this Christmas and more donations are needed.
“We need the community to come together and help these children out. Obviously we’re not doing as good as we hoped today and hopefully we can get some of these people out here to help us out and get these children taken care of,” said Sgt. Cyrus Spurlock of the U.S. Marine Corps.
KRQE News 13 will host a Toys for Tots phone bank Tuesday.
Participants will be able to donate toys or money and local law enforcement will go to their homes and pick up the donations.
