Snow Continues Tonight East…December 5th, 2013 at 2:39 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
A nice band of snow set up over the Albuquerque metro area this morning and continued through this afternoon. Snowfall amounts ranged from 5″ in the foothills to around an inch on the westside. This was the perfect scenario for snow in the metro area. This was by no means a blockbuster storm but it did have the right dynamics to hit the metro.
The main snow band will shift east throughout the night. This will lead to continued accumulating snow over the I-40 corridor around Santa Rosa and Tucumcari. Late tonight the last of the snow will exit and a cold night will set in.
We will have a break between systems on Friday with partly sunny skies and cold temps with highs in the 30′s. Then yet another storm takes aim on the state Saturday and Sunday. This storm too will pack plenty of cold air and some snow especially the mountains.
