Cold Storm Ahead…December 3rd, 2013 at 8:21 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
Some seriously cold air, big time winds and snow is headed our way the next few days. Snow will develop tonight over the 4-corners and slowly spread into the northern mountains during the day Wednesday. The winds will be the big players elsewhere across the state. Here in the metro winds will top 40mph at a gust. Over eastern sections winds could hit 60 mph.
By Thursday cold air will overtake the state with highs in the teens east and high 30′s in the metro. If we are going to get some snow with this system it will most likely happen early Thursday. I wouldn’t expect a lot of accumulating snow in the valley at this point but the forecast should be watched closely as this could change. Look for heavy snow to continue Thursday in the mountains.
This system will clear the state early on Friday. But yet another storm may roll in this weekend.
