Another Storm System Heading Our Way…November 2nd, 2013 at 7:58 pm by chrisgilson under Weather
It was a great start to the weekend, but some minor changes are on the way for the second half ahead of our next big storm system. Some moisture will be moving into New Mexico Saturday night as a weak disturbance passes just to our south. This will throw in a few extra clouds for your Sunday and could spark some isolated showers around the high terrain. Not everyone will get the rain nor will it be heavy rain. Just some light spotty showers.
What we are most concerned with will arrive Monday night into Tuesday. That’s when a strong area of low pressure will track into the region. Depending on the track this could give us some decent snowfall in Southern Colorado and the Northern Mountains. In Albuquerque, it’ll still be too warm for snow so we could pick up a few chilly rain showers on Tuesday.
Models still disagree on the track and strength of the storm system. One model (model A shown below) is suggesting the storm won’t be as strong and not much moisture will make it into New Mexico. While another model (model B also shown below) is still thinking the storm system will track over the state giving us a good chance for snow in Northern New Mexcio and Southern Colorado.
