Storm chances on the rise…

Heavy rain fell in parts of southwest New Mexico Thursday night.  But,  more areas could get in on the action over the weekend.  A ridge of high pressure that has been limiting storms to Western New Mexico will loosen its grip over the weekend allowing for more moisture to make it into the state.  This will give much of Central and Western New Mexico a better shot for scattered storms especially by Sunday and Monday.  There is concern that some of the storms will be slow movers that dump heavy rain so flash flooding could become a huge concern over the weekend.  So if you have outdoor plans this weekend be careful and remember to never cross a flooded roadway.
