Lean Storm Times Ahead…August 19th, 2013 at 10:33 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
After storms fired this afternoon over the Albuquerque metro-area things will quiet down early on Tuesday. By Tuesday afternoon the storm crop will once again favor the western mountains and the northern mountains as well. Isolated storms will be possible here in the metro-area.
The atmosphere will begin to dry out Wednesday through Friday. Spot storms will be a possibility but widespread soaking rains will be unlikely. Given where we are for the month of August this dry week ahead is ill timed. We are approaching 1″ below average for the month here in the city. Things could well change by the weekend with high-pressure shifting east and the monsoon flow opening up again.
