An Uptick In StormsJuly 31st, 2013 at 9:33 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
Storms increased across a good portion of New Mexico today and we will see more storms rolling in for Thursday. Moisture sliding up from the South will fuel the storms. They will start over western sections and then move into central sections during the afternoon hours. The Albuquerque metro area has about 30% chance to pick up storms while the northern mountains and southwestern mountains have the best chance to get measurable rain.
Friday and into the weekend the chance for showers will decrease slightly but scattered storms will still be possible across many central, northeastern and western sections of the state. Temperatures will be right around 90° which is where they should be for this time of year and the deep moisture doesn’t look like it will return until around 7 August.
