A Break For Now…July 29th, 2013 at 10:32 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
Over the next two days will finally get a break from the near constant parade of thunderstorms that have taken aim on New Mexico.
The big story through Wednesday will be the heat. Highs across southeastern New Mexico will break 100° meanwhile here in the metro will be in the mid to high 90s. Moisture returns across the area on Thursday with an increased monsoon flow setting up from the south. That monsoon flow will fuel thunderstorms through the end of the work week and into the weekend.
As we end the month of July it’s worth mentioning that we’ve done very well for rain. At the Sunport be picked up 2.78 inches of rain for the month. That is the highest total in one month since 2006. Hopefully we can keep it up into August and continue to make up ground on the drought.
