Another Active WeekJuly 22nd, 2013 at 10:01 pm by Mark Ronchetti under Weather
There was a relatively small crop of thunderstorms across New Mexico today. Most of the storms favored Western New Mexico and the southern mountains. On Tuesday the southern mountains will once again be favored for most of the rain shower activity. However the thin storm times will not last. We will see more and more showers ramping up as we head into midweek and toward the weekend.
High-pressure currently anchored NW of the state will begin to shift to the east and open the moisture door to increase the monsoon flow by Wednesday. The Albuquerque metro-area will continue to see scattered storms both Wednesday Thursday and the weekend as well. Highs will top out in the low 90s until we hit the weekend when it will be tough to escape the 80s.
